I went for my annual mammogram in early February. I have been making these yearly trips for more than 10 years, after a diagnosis of dense breasts,
and a warning to be sure and have a check every year. This time, I was called back, for another mammogram and an ultrasound.
It seems that my right breast has two suspect dark spots. They are described as ‘calcs’ on the requisition form.
I now must have a biopsy done at the women’s health center on March 5. It is to be a simple procedure, involving a large needle like instrument.
I am not too worried yet. Perhaps at this stage, I am still in denial that anything could be wrong.
I hope to chronicle my journey here, should I have breast cancer.
If I do not, then I will write about something else after that March appointment.
